Karen Fang

Karen Fang is a film scholar and visual culture critic who writes and speaks for museums and film festivals around the world. She is the author of Background Artist: The Life and Work of Tyrus Wong, a biography of the pioneering immigrant artist and Disney Legend, and Arresting Cinema: Surveillance in Hong Kong Film. A contributor to the nationally broadcast radio program The Engines of Our Ingenuity and founder of the Media & Moving Image initiative at the University of Houston, Karen is fascinated by creative history and its renovating impact on modern life.
